Strategic finance leadership role High-impact leadership position Opportunity to drive financial governance across a diversified energy-focused group The Company Our client is a conglomerate expanding across Southeast Asia, primarily focused on the downstream energy sector. The group is involved in fuel trading, importation, storage, logistics, and retail fuel distribution. The organization operates through several affiliated entities and continues to expand its operational footprint while strengthening governance and strategic investment capabilities. In addition to its core energy-related businesses, the group is also actively expanding into the real estate, education and healthcare sectors as part of its broader diversification strategy. As the organization continues to expand its operational scale and strengthen financial governance across the group, it is seeking an experienced Group Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy, enhance transparency, and support disciplined growth across its diversified business portfolio. The Position The Group CFO will serve as the senior finance leader for the organization, responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, governance, and performance management of the group’s multiple operating entities. Reporting directly to Senior Leadership and working closely with shareholders, the CFO will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, supporting capital allocation decisions, and driving financial discipline across a complex operating environment. Key responsibilities include: Group Financial Leadership Lead the overall financial strategy, planning, and performance management across the group’s business units Oversee consolidated financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis at group level Establish strong governance frameworks, internal controls, and financial policies across operating companies Treasury & Capital Management Manage group treasury, cash flow planning, and working capital across multiple business lines Support funding strategies, banking relationships, and financing structures required for business expansion Evaluate investment opportunities including infrastructure, logistics, and network expansion Operational Finance & Business Partnership Partner with business leadership to improve financial visibility across trading, distribution, and retail operations Drive cost optimization, margin management, and operational efficiency across the group Provide financial insight supporting commercial decisions, supply chain management, and fuel distribution activities Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with local regulatory frameworks, taxation, and statutory reporting requirements Strengthen audit processes, risk management frameworks, and corporate governance standards Serve as a key financial advisor to the CEO and Board on strategic and financial matters The Person The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, with professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA considered advantageous. He or she will bring a minimum of 15 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including senior finance or CFO-level responsibilities, with a strong track record of managing group-level finance operations across multiple subsidiaries or business units. Experience within the Oil & Gas, energy, petroleum trading, fuel distribution, or related infrastructure sectors will be strongly preferred. Prior professional experience in Myanmar, or strong familiarity with the Myanmar business environment, will be highly valued given the operating context of the role. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in treasury management, financial strategy, capital planning, and investment analysis, with the ability to support complex commercial and operational decisions. Equally important is experience working closely with shareholders, boards, and senior leadership teams, alongside the capability to build strong finance teams and strengthen financial governance frameworks in evolving and complex business environments. A commercially minded approach, balancing financial discipline with business growth and operational realities, will be essential for success in this role.
