The Company 

The firm is an international company focused toward the provision of B2B services. Its mature Myanmar operation supports in-house operations and external third-party customers. As it plans additional business growth, it wishes to appoint a Country Director to oversee on-the-ground operations.

 

The Position 

The appointed individual will provide general management leadership across all core functions whilst driving operational efficiency and effectiveness, providing appropriate financial stewardship (budget management), ensuring that service-level KPIs are optimised whilst ensuring resource capability to continue the scaling up of the business. In collaboration with international counterparts, the appointed individual will need to understand client demand forecasts and ensure that advanced planning and co-ordination is executed in a rigorous and timely manner to meet contracted commercial requirements. Naturally, the role will include oversight of all middle- and back-office functions whilst ensuring a drive for excellence across HR, legal and compliance policies.

This is a super opportunity for an experienced GM/Operations Leader seeking a new challenge within a business that is anticipating high double-digit annual growth over the next 4-5 years and beyond.

 

The Person

Interest is invited for either Burmese or Expatriate candidates (the latter with current or prior experience in Myanmar) and who should offer an international Degree and/or MBA, complemented by prior overseas work experience gained within a noted international company. Strong leadership and day-to-day management expertise is essential with formative experience secured within operations and/or commercial management from within B2B services (such as logistics, fleet management requiring planning and cross-border mobilisation). A strong pedigree of proven leadership, planning and organizational skills and cross-functional appreciation for business operations is essential. The appointed individual will also offer strong English communication skills with an adept ability to inspire and motivate teams. The appointed individual will be exposed to a dynamic, fast-paced and complex environment and, consequently, interested prospects should be able to demonstrate an ability to shift gears.
