Location: Myanmar
The Company
The company is a well-established, vertically-integrated market-leading manufacturer and distributor of healthcare products incorporating OTC and prescription medicine as well as medical devices. It now seeks to appoint a General Manager to drive the end-to-end marketing for its prescription medicines division. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the pharmaceutical industry and contribute to the healthcare needs of the people of Myanmar.
The Position
Located in Yangon, whilst reporting directly to the Group CEO, the appointed individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing and sales plans to drive the growth of the company’s prescription drug portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of professionals, developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Core responsibilities will comprise:
- Achieving annual and quarterly sales targets
- Increasing market share across key therapeutic segments
- Optimal geographical sales coverage and tracking the volume of prescriptions
- Improving brand recall and physician preference whilst measuring and improving return on investment for marketing campaigns
- Creation of events and other initiatives to Increase engagement metrics from physicians and healthcare providers
- Building strategic relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and stakeholders
- Leading efforts to pass internal and external audits without major findings and maintain high retention rates among key prescribing physicians and institutions
- Increased productivity per sales/medical representative whilst sustaining high levels of engagement and satisfaction within the team
- Leading initiatives to launch or expand products into new therapeutic areas whilst accurately steering sales forecasting and demand planning
The Person
Interested candidates should have Degree (Pharmacy / Medicine or related) and, preferably supported by a Masters accreditation underpinned by at least 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing and 5 years’ in a leadership capacity. Fluent Burmese and English is required and strong exposure to data analytics, marketing strategy and budgeting, sales forecasting and customer engagement (events/promotion performance tracking and ROI).
The successfully appointed individual will secure a very attractive (MMK) base salary plus benefits.
